Our Beliefs
The Trinity
God is both One and Triune; He is eternally self-existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:26, Matthew 28:19, John 1:1-2,14, Ephesians 4:4-6, 2 Corinthians 13:17
The Father
The believer’s inheritance is adoption as sons and daughters into God’s family. God has been and will always be a loving Father whose desire is for His children. His love is perfect, He is always present and His promises are true. It is the Father who put eternity in our hearts and created us with an identity and a purpose.
Genesis 1: 26-31, Ephesians 1:4-5, Romans, Galatians 4:4-6, Psalm 139:13-17, Ecclesiastes 3:11, Jeremiah 1:5, Revelation 20:12
jesus christ
Jesus is the one and only God, the promised Messiah, the very image of God, fully human and fully God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary and lived a life without sin. He died and rose again to reconcile all people to God and free them from the power of sin and the devil. He will return to reign with His bride- The Church.
Matthew 1:18-25, John 1:1, Colossians 1:15, 20, Titus 2:13. 2 Timothy 2:12
holy spirit
The Holy Spirit was sent to establish the Church here on earth and to carry on the work of Christ. The Holy Spirit purifies and sanctifies the believer, brings God’s people into salvation and sends them out to be witnesses of His Kingdom. The baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers believers to live like Jesus did.
Acts 1:4-8, 2:4, John 16:5-15, Romans 8:9-11,16, 26-27, 1 Corinthians 12:4-31
the bible
It is the living and breathing word of God to all people. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit and is the only infallible and authoritative Word of God.
Isaiah 40:8, Matthew 24:35, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Revelation 22:18-19
man + sin
Mankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him, yet we traded His plan for the devil’s when we chose sin over relationship with Him. Because of this, mankind was separated from God, sickness and death entered the world, and creation began to experience the consequences of sin. It’s only through Jesus, who paid the full penalty of sin and death on a cross, that we can be brought back into right relationship with God. Everyone who repents and believes in the name of Jesus for forgiveness of sin is forgiven and free from the curse of sin and death.
Genesis 1:26-30; 2:7, 18-22; 3, Psalm 51:5, 1 Colossians 1:21-22 Romans 5:12-21,6:23,10:9-11, Ephesians 2:1-5, 8-9
salvation
Salvation is a free gift from God given to all who believe in His name. It was for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that all can be free from the power of sin & death: body, soul & spirit.
Genesis 1:26-30; 2:7, 18-22; 3, Psalm 51:5, 1 Colossians 1:21-22
ordinances
- Baptism-
We believe water baptism is the outward expression of our alignment with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Believers are baptized in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as a sign of their consecration to God.
Matthew 28:19-20 Romans 6:3-4
- Communion-
Communion is a time to give thanks for the gift of salvation we received by the blood and body of Jesus Christ. We take the elements of bread and wine (or grape juice) in remembrance of His sacrifice on the cross.
Matthew 26:26-29, 1 Corinthians 10:16
the church
The Church is the Body of Christ and includes all who put their faith in Him. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and fulfill the Great Commision by disabling the works of the enemy, preaching the Gospel, discipling the nations, and walking in the love of God.
Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22
healings + MirACLES
All throughout Jesus’ ministry here on earth we find the working of healing and miracles. These works testified to the truth of the Gospel and helped further advance the Kingdom of God. Just as Jesus commissioned His disciples, He empowers every believer to walk in the supernatural, demonstrate His power and advance His Kingdom.
Matthew 4:23, 28:19-20, Mark 16:17-18, John 10:37, 1 Corinthians 12:9-10
